Content creation for Perth hospitality venues

Kestaris produces food, drink and atmosphere content for Perth restaurants, cafés, bars and venues. Shoots are scheduled around service so the room looks alive without disrupting trade, and each one is planned to produce a batch of social content rather than a handful of photographs.

Your venue already has the atmosphere

The problem is rarely the venue. It is that the room at 7pm on a Friday — full, warm, loud — looks nothing like the flat daylight photographs on the website. People decide where to eat by scrolling, and they are deciding on a feeling.

So we shoot when the place looks like itself. Service in motion, steam off a plate, the light at the end of the day, hands doing the work. Then it gets cut into a run of content you can publish over the following weeks instead of using in one post.

◆ PROCESS

How a venue shoot runs

  1. 01Walk-throughWe look at the room, the light through the day, and the dishes worth building around.
  2. 02PlanA shot list and a schedule that works around service rather than through it.
  3. 03ShootFood, drink, room and service — captured when the venue looks like itself.
  4. 04EditGrading kept consistent so your feed reads as one body of work.
  5. 05DeliverA batch of stills and cuts, sized for social and your website.
  6. 06RepeatOptional recurring shoots so the content does not run dry after a month.

◆ RELEVANT WORK

Projects where we did this

Beecele is a food-subscription product we built and produced content for. We are actively building our published venue work — ask us for recent examples that are not yet on the site.

◆ PRICING

What it costs

Venue content is usually arranged either as a one-off shoot or as a recurring monthly arrangement, which works out better value if you need a steady stream of posts. Cost depends on shoot length, how many dishes are covered and how many finished pieces you need.

◆ QUESTIONS

Frequently asked

Do you shoot during service?

Usually around it rather than through it. Atmosphere shots need the room genuinely busy, so we film those during service without getting in the way of staff. Food and detail shots are done before doors open or between sittings, when there is space to plate carefully.

How often should a venue post new content?

Consistently matters more than frequently. A few strong posts a week beats a burst followed by silence. That is why we plan a single shoot to yield weeks of material, and why some venues move to a recurring arrangement rather than commissioning one-off shoots.

Do we need to prepare the food specially?

Serve it the way you actually serve it. Food that has been styled beyond recognition photographs well and disappoints in person, which is worse than no photograph. We will ask for dishes plated as a customer would receive them, with a little extra care on the details.

Can you photograph the venue as well as film it?

Yes — most venue shoots cover both. Stills and video are captured in the same session, which is more efficient than booking separately and keeps the look consistent between your website imagery and your social feed.

What if our venue is small or the lighting is poor?

Small rooms often photograph better than large ones because they read as intimate. Difficult lighting is a planning problem: we look at the space beforehand, work out when the light is best, and bring what is needed to fill the gaps without making the room look staged.

Bring us the rough idea.

Short and unpolished is fine. Tell us what you are trying to do and we will come back with the sharpest next step.
